PSFC/JA-05-13 Plasma Assisted Reforming of Methane II: Partially Stirred Reactor (PaSR) Simulation

Plasmatron fuel converters have been investigated for the conversion of a wide range of fuels. This paper is a series of papers describing an experimental and computational study of plasmatron methane reformers. This paper presents a model that uses limited mixing and chemical kinetics to investigate the plasma assisted reforming of natural gas. The Partially Stirred Reactor (PaSR) model from the software package CHEMKIN is used in the analysis. Comparison with plasmatron methane reforming experiments is made.
